Flip-Cup or Flippy-Cup is a game played between two teams of 4-6 players per side. Each team lines up on one side of the Flip-Cup Table. In front of each player is their Flip-Cup which is filled up with a pre-set amount of beer. The amount of beer in each cup can be negotiated between the 2 teams, but the official rules of Flip-Cup states that “each cup should be filled with exactly 4 oz of beer”
Once all the cups are filled, the race begins! The Flip-Cup judge signals the start of the race and then one player from each team (on the same end of the table) has to drink their beer, put their cup down on the table, and then Flip-their-Cup so that it lands on its lid. If the cup doesn’t land on its lid, then the player must pick up the cup and try to Flip-it again. Once the player successfully Flips-their-Cup, the next person on their team is allowed to drink their beer and try to Flip-their-Cup. The race ends when all of the players from one team have successfully Flipped-their-Cup. Most matches are Best-of-5 or Best-of-7 format.
All rulings by the judge are final. In the event that it is too close to call, the judge may call a Tie Game, and that race will be done over.
